UK inflation rises to 2.9%

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) has released its latest UK inflation data, covering July.

  • UK Consumer Prices Index (CPI) inflation rose by 2.9% in the 12 months to July 2026.
  • CPI inflation rose by 2.6% in the 12 months to June 2026, down from 2.8% in May and April 2026.
  • Ratesetters at the Bank of England will be watching the July data closely to inform their next decision on UK interest rates.
