Pearson reaches 75m dollar settlement over antitrust claims
Pearson, the FTSE 100 publishing company, has announced that its Penguin division has come to a comprehensive agreement to pay a 75m dollar settlement.
Pearson, the FTSE 100 publishing company, has announced that its Penguin division has come to a comprehensive agreement to pay a 75m dollar settlement.
The agreement, made with the US State Attorneys General and private class plaintiffs, will cover consumer damages, as well as costs and fees for antitrust claims relating to eBook pricing.
The company had already made a $40m provision for settlement in its 2012 accounts in anticipation of the agreement, and said it will expense an incremental charge in its 2013 statutory accounts.
The share price was 0.4% higher at 1,267p at 14:50 Wednesday.
