Independent News & Media (INM) has requested an Extraordinary General Meeting of the shareholders of APN News & Media Limited to consider resolutions to remove six directors.
The names of the directors that INM is seeking to remove are Brett Chenoweth, Melinda Conrad, John Harvey, Peter Hunt, Kevin Luscombe and John Maasland.
If all resolutions are passed, INM would expect that the continuing directors would seek to appoint additional independent directors to contribute to the board's consideration of strategies and initiatives to restore value.
The announcement comes three days after INM announced it would be seeking to remove Chenoweth as Director of Chief Executive officer of APN News & Media.
Independent News & Media publishes newspapers in Ireland, Northern Ireland and South Africa. APN has a portfolio of media asserts across Australia and New Zealand.
INM's share price was unchanged at 0.03 euros at 09:50 on Monday.
