Premium Bond winners – who won the September £1m jackpot?

NS&I reveals September's Premium Bond Winners. Who won £1million in this month’s draw and what other prizes are up for grabs?

National Savings & Investments (NS&I)'s has revealed this month's Premium Bond winners, with two lucky savers becoming millionaire's in this month's draw. Other cash prizes ranging from £25 to £100,000 are also up for grabs.

The September Premium Bond millionaires, picked by NS&I's prize generator, ERNIE come from West Sussex and Manchester. The winner from Sussex holds bond number 388VE682612 and has £18,101 in Premium Bonds. The winning Bond was purchased in April 2020.  The Manchester winner holds bond number 569RS008033 and has £21,700 in Premium Bonds. They purchased the winning bond in February 2024. Both winners will have had a visit from Agent Million.

A Premium Bond holder from Birmingham also got lucky, winning the £100,000 prize with a modest £600 in Premium Bonds.

Here is the full list of the number of prizes that are up for grabs this month. If you hold Premium Bonds, you can check what you won from tomorrow (3 September). 

September 2024 Premium Bond winners 

A total of 5,961,610 prizes worth £459,043,775 will be paid out in the September 2024 prize draw, valued between £25 - £100,000. The odds of winning are 21,000 to 1 for every bond.

How to check if you’re a September NS&I Premium Bond winner 

Premium Bond holders can check from tomorrow (3 September) to see if they’ve won any prizes. 

The easiest way to check is on the NS&I's prize checker tool, or you can use the NS&I app. You will need your Premium Bond number at hand. 

And, if you have an Amazon Alexa, you can look back on winnings since 1986. 

Alternatively, you can also call NS&I for free on 08085 007 007. But only use this method if you’re registered for phone or online banking with NS&I. 

Or, you can write to: NS&I, Sunderland SR43 2SB. It’s important to include:  

  • Your name
  • Current address
  • Premium Bond number 
  • Any previous addresses where you might have registered bonds 
  • Your signature 

You should also check for any unclaimed Premium Bonds. You might have missed out on winnings if you moved house or your contact details are not current on NS&I's systems. 

According to NS&I, there are 2,448,758 unclaimed prizes worth £87,318,950 waiting to be claimed. 

In West Sussex, 36,656 prizes worth £1,248,425 sitting idle. The biggest unclaimed prize is worth £10,000 from the January 2023 draw.

In Manchester, there are 25,127 unclaimed prizes worth £933,800 waiting to be claimed – with the largest unclaimed prize worth £50,000. 

How will my prize be paid? 

You will receive your winnings automatically into your bank account if you have opted for automatic payments. If so, check that your bank details are up to date. 

Or you might have opted for prizes to be reinvested. If you haven’t opted for either option, you will receive a cheque – so it’s worth checking your address is updated. 

You also have the option to change your payment method on the NS&I website
