October’s NS&I Premium Bond winners revealed - have you scooped £1 million?

Two lucky NS&I Premium Bond winners are now millionaires this October. Find out here you are one of them

Two lucky premium bond winners from Greater Manchester and West Scotland have scooped the October National Savings and Investments (NS&I) million pound jackpot.

The first Bond number drawn by ERNIE - NS&I’s prize picker - for October is 284MT463803 and is held by the winner in Greater Manchester. The winner holds £50,000 in Premium Bonds and purchased their winning Bond in October 2016. The winner will get a visit from Agent Million to let them know they have hit the jackpot.

The second winning Premium Bond number is 159TJ094783; the winner, based in West Scotland holds £50,000 in Premium Bonds and purchased their winning Bond in September 2009.

But, it’s not just the jackpot winners who are in for a treat this month. NS&I increased the Premium Bonds prize fund rate from 4% to 4.65% in August -  the highest level since March 1999, meaning the odds of winning a Premium Bond prize draw are even higher. 

The monthly prize draw offers two top prizes of £1 million alongside several other prizes, starting from £25 - more than five million prizes worth over £470 million in total that will be paid out to winners in October.

Andrew Westhead, NS&I retail director, commented: “Premium bonds aren’t just about winning the jackpot - this month we paid over five million prizes worth more than £470 million, including 90 people winning £100,000.”

October 2023 Premium Bond prize winners

A total of 5,786,217 prizes worth £470,853,175 will be paid out in premium bond prizes. This month there were 121,510,495,306 Bond numbers eligible for the draw. Here are the details of the prize draw for October:

How to check for NS&I Premium Bond prizes

You can check to see if you won on the October prize draw using the nsandi.com prize checker or the official prize checker app - available on either Android or iOS - the details will be available from 3 October.

You will need your Premium Bonds holder’s number to use the website and your NS&I number or holder’s number to check via the prize checker app.

In Greater Manchester alone, there are 48,413 unclaimed prizes worth £1,629,450. The largest unclaimed prize in Greater Manchester is worth £100,000, from the September 2010 draw. The  oldest unclaimed prize is from the December 1963 prize draw for £25.

In West Scotland, 14,190 prizes totalling £432,325 remain unclaimed. The largest unclaimed prize is £25,000 and this was from the February 2018 prize draw. The oldest unclaimed prize in West Scotland is from June 1961 for £50.
