MoneyWeek celebrates 25 years
MoneyWeek is 25 and continues to help readers make, keep and spend money every week
This week celebrates 25 years of MoneyWeek.
The magazine was founded by Jolyon Connell in November 2000 with Merryn Somerset Webb as the launch editor.
Its timing couldn't have been more apt, having launched just after the 2000 recession and years before the financial crash in 2008, it has been seeing readers through turbulent periods ever since. That’s 25 years of intelligence to help you build and maintain your wealth, and expert insight into investment opportunities.

It has quickly become known as Britain’s best-selling financial magazine and has also grown online to attract over a million unique users each month with essential news and must-read analysis.
Today, the magazine is edited by Andrew Van Sickle, and the website is edited by Kalpana Fitzpatrick, which covers daily news and features.
Your favourite front covers
MoneyWeek is popular for its brilliantly illustrated front covers – they’ve captured major events, sometimes even predicted outcomes, and often provided great humour.
Our first ever cover is featured below, though they look very different today with our brilliant illustrators Howard McWilliam and Adam Stower.
To celebrate our birthday, we picked 25 of our top covers and we would like you to vote for your favourite. Let us know which cover grabs you the most - vote now.

25 years – looking back
Watch our recent reunion with past and present MoneyWeek editors, with past and present editors. Merryn Somerset Webb, John Stepek, Cris Sholto Heaton and Andrew Van Sickle take a look back at what it takes to launch a financial magazine, the good times, the hard times and how MoneyWeek's covers called out key trends before the mainstream media, making and saving readers a great deal of money. Our best calls have included the gold bull market that began in 2001, the credit crunch leading to the banking crisis, and the recent return of inflation.
