After months of silence, chatter of a potential cut to the cash ISA allowance has returned.
Treasury insiders say chancellor Rachel Reeves is once again considering cutting the cash ISA limit in her upcoming Budget in a bid to get Brits to invest their cash in the stock market.
While supporters of the potential reform say savers can get better returns by putting their money into stocks and shares, others say a cut to the cash ISA limit will undermine the savings product, and potentially even make mortgages more expensive.
