Many fund managers like to portray themselves as contrarian investors. But Alasdair McKinnon, manager of the Scottish Investment Trust (LSE: SCIN), whichhas been around since 1887, believes that that a large proportion of funds are "closet trackers" that differ very little from their benchmark index.
