Slovenia’s supercar
The Tushek Renovatio T500 gets you more exclusivity than any Ferrari or Lamborghini.
This is the Tushek Renovatio T500, a supercar from Slovenia. "Yes, you read that right," says The Sunday Times. The small southern European country "is about to get another attraction". Admittedly, the car has a German engine a 444bhp V8 borrowed from the Audi RS4 but "the bodywork, design and styling are all homegrown".
The Renovatio has been built by Tushek Supercars, based in Ljubljana, and the company says it already has two interested customers after putting a model on display at the Monaco motorshow. The mid-engined car "sticks to the supercar recipe book, with scissor doors, a top speed of 193mph, a 0-62mph time of 3.7 seconds, and plenty of bare carbon fibre". It even comes with its own bespoke luggage set.
At £258,000, the car is not cheap it costs more than a Ferrari 458 Italia. But for that you get more exclusivity than any Ferrari or Lamborghini: Tushek will make only ten of the handbuilt cars over the next ten years, and each one will be individually tuned, depending on how often it is used on track or road.
