F&C chairman continues buying
A round-up of the biggest director deals today so far.
F&C Asset Management chairman Edward Bramson's interests have been consistently buying shares in the past week, while F&C chief executive Alain Grisay has made a significant disposal.
Bramson was appointed chairman of F&C last month after a shareholder coup but his investment vehicle SIGA LP had to wait until after F&C's 2010 figures were published before it could buy more shares. SIGA owns just over 18% of F&C. SIGA uses funds supplied by AIM-quoted Sherborne Investors to invest in F&C.
The latest purchase is 180,000 shares at 78.58p each, a total cost of £141,000. This is the fifth day running that there has been a buying announcement from SIGA, which has invested £680,000 in F&C shares in the past week.

In contrast, F&C chief executive Alain Grisay sold 1m shares earlier this week. The disposal at 77.12p a share, raised £771,000 for Grisay.
Belgium-born Grisay retains 500,000 shares plus other shares in company share plans. There was speculation that Grisay might be replaced as F&C boss after the shareholder rebellion but Bramson has yet to make any significant comments about future strategy.
