F&C Asset Management's chairman Edward Bramson has splashed out more than £200,000 on shares in the fund manager.
He took 263,000 shares at 76.68p a time.
F&C announced earlier this month that it halved losses in 2010.

Operating losses fell to £3.1m from £5.9m in 2009, though a profit before tax a year ago turned to a loss of £19.2m this time. The previous year's number benefited from a £27.9m debt exchange programme.
Assets under management rose to £105.8bn from £97.8bn at the end of 2009, helped by £4.2bn from the acquisition of Thames River Capital in September.
