Earlier this month Lloyds was warned that credit ratings agency Moody's could downgrade its A1 unsecured debt rating.
The preceding week the company announced that chief executive Horta-Osorio had been diagnosed with extreme fatigue due to overwork and had been ordered by his doctors to rest, wiping £1bn off its share price even though he promised to return to work before Christmas.
The firm has lost 65.34% on its share price over the past year, equivalent to 41.4p.
