Better weather in 2011 at the end of the year contributed to a strong improvement in like-for-like (LFL) sales at pubs group Mitchells and Butlers, but trading has been more subdued in January.
LFL sales in the nine weeks to January 21st, 2012, were up 6.5% from the corresponding period a year earlier. As a result, like-for-like sales in the first 17 weeks of the financial year were up 4.4%.
