Premier Foods to cut 600 jobs

Premier Foods, the firm behind brands such as Hovis, Sharwood's and Mr. Kipling, said it would cut 5% of its 12,000 strong workforce by 2013.

Premier Foods, the firm behind brands such as Hovis, Sharwood's and Mr. Kipling, said it would cut 5% of its 12,000 strong workforce by 2013.

The cuts form part of a plan to reduce costs by £40m by 2013, more than double the savings envisaged when it was set out in the company's six month report last year.
