Motive Television wins US patent

Motive Television (MTV) has won a patent in the US for an embedded place-shifting system which allows the transfer of content from a set-top box to smartphones and tablets.

Motive Television (MTV) has won a patent in the US for an embedded place-shifting system which allows the transfer of content from a set-top box to smartphones and tablets.

The patent for the NXVision technology, which was integrated with BesTV technology during 2011, was originally filed in 2006 by NXVision which was acquired by MTV in 2010.

The technology has become a part of MTV's Anytime Anywhere and Video2Go solution for broadcasters.

"This patent award in the US recognises the value of this invention and confirms the unique advantages of this technology to the industry," said Chief Executive Officer, Leonard Fertig.

"It represents another step forward for Motive."

Shares advanced 15.38% to 0.03p at 09:32 Friday.
