Mining group Bumi plc has announced that it has begun a search for a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Mining group Bumi plc has announced that it has begun a search for a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Current CFO Scott Merrillees is planning to focus on his role as CFO of Berau Coal and is not planning to seek re-election at the annual general meeting in June.

Chief Executive of Bumi Nick von Schirnding said simply that the announcement was "consistent with our commitment to restructure the plc board. I thank Scott for his contribution as CFO to the company."

The share price was up 3.0% at 257p by 16:35.
