Travis Perkins on Thursday confirmed the retirement of Finance Director Paul Hampden Smith, who, as previously reported, has been replaced by Tony Buffin.
The company has described Buffin as having an "exceptionally strong track record in financial management, corporate finance and in creating and executing organic growth strategies" and said it "believes it is fortunate to have secured the services of such a strong candidate".
Hampden Smith is staying on at the company until September 2013 to ensure a proper handover.
