A headstart for my MoneyWeek disciples
The 2014 Folding Hill is “on the water” as I write, due to arrive in early October, says Matthew Jukes. Get it before it sells out.
2014 Folding Hill, Pinot Noir, Central Otago, New Zealand (about £25, Amps Fine Wines, 01832-273502; Appellation Nation, 01242-541144; Hercules Wine Warehouse, 01304-617100; Butlers Wine Cellar, 01273-621638; Noel Young Wines, 01223-566744; Old Chapel Cellars, 01872-270545; Oxford Wine Company, 01865-301144; Planet of The Grapes, 020-248 1892; Prohibition Wines, 020-8444 4804; Quaff Wine, 01273-820320; Sheldon's Wine Cellars, 01608-661409; The Sampler, 020-7225 5091; The Secret Cellar, 01892-537981; The Vineking, 01737-221311).
This reads like a directory of top indie wine merchants and it is. The reason for this avalanche of fine wine companies is that these are the chosen few who will be receiving a handful of cases each of the latest release of Folding Hill Pinot from the great Tim Kerruish.
This wine is "on the water" as I write, due to arrive in early October, but by the time is it physically in the country it is likely to have sold out, so I have come up with a cunning plan and that is to alert my MoneyWeek disciples before the word gets out! Take advantage of this headstart and reserve your stock. I wrote up the 2009 on this very page four years ago and tipped it for the top. With the vines now 13 years old, the fruit on show here has gathered even more class and complexity, marking it as a very accomplished piece of winemaking indeed.
