Simbol Design's 'budget' supercar
Looking like a cross between a Pagani Zonda and the Ferrari Enzo, Simbol Design's GTX-R is a lot cheaper than either, but just as much fun.
Simbol Design, formerly Automobili Lavazza, have produced this "mad-as-a-hatter" supercar, the GTX-R, says Matt Davis in The Sunday Times. The car has been in "drawn-out development and prototype testing since 2004", and the result is a cross between a Pagani Zonda and the Ferrari Enzo.
The "universal land missile shape" works best for stability at high speed and you'll need it as the car has a top speed of 205mph. The engine is a non-turbo 489bhp 5.4-litre V12, made by BMW, but you can choose your own engine if you have a better idea of what should be under the bonnet.
The car will be offered in both coup and roadster versions and will be built in carbon kevlar, helping the car get its weight down to about 2,381 lbs, says TopSpeed.com. If you want to get yourself a supercar "without having to pay the grandiose supercar price", then "this knock-off should appease quite nicely".
