A legendary Super-Tuscan to blow your mind
This is a once in a lifetime chance to buy a ‘vertical’ of these legendary wines, says Matthew Jukes. Don't miss out.
2010 Ombrone, Sant'Antimo, Cupano, Tuscany, Italy (£49, reduced to £258 for six bottles (£43 each) for MoneyWeek readers only, from Swig, 08000-272272).
I enjoyed a lunch with one of my wine heroes, ex-cinematographer turned wine guru Lionel Cousin, the other day. You may remember that I wrote up his 2008 Ombrone two and a half years ago on this very page.
He kindly opened a vertical tasting of his stellar Brunello (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009) and every vintage was sublime.

2008 Ombrone, his staggering Super-Tuscan, looked regal. The 2009 was darker and deeper and my featured 2010 blew my mind. The cabernet/merlot harmony in this magnificent wine is nearly as distinguished as Lionel himself.
When he told me that he was releasing a few cases of all of these wines from his collection just for Swiggers I nearly dropped my glass. Swig will be shipping some library stock direct from the Cupano cellars in a few weeks' time. The Brunellos range from £60 per bottle for the 2009 to £75 for the 2004 and Ombrone 2009 is £43.
You can order any of these wines in six-packs from Swig if you get on the blower today. This is a once in a lifetime chance to buy a vertical' of these legendary wines. This offer will never happen again, so do not miss out.
