Avanti Communications chief tops up his stake, again
A round-up of the biggest director buys today so far.
Co-founder of satellite operator Avanti, David Williams, has upped his stake in the firm for the second time this week just days after the company reported a jump in full-year losses.
The chief executive, who joined forces with co-founder David Bestwick in 2000, bought 19,420 shares at 254.8p per share for a total of £49,482. The spend takes his stake in the company from 1.98% to 2%, equivalent to more than 1.6m shares. On Monday, Williams purchased 18,360 shares at 269.3p each.
Williams, who previously worked in the city financing telcommunications projects, was voted entrepreneur of the year at the Quoted Company Awards in 2006.
