Unilever sees underlying sales growth
Unilever, the giant consumer goods firm behind brands as diverse as TreSemme, PG Tips and Brylcream, has seen turnover hit €12.1bn in the three months to September.
Unilever, the giant consumer goods firm behind brands as diverse as TreSemme, PG Tips and Brylcream, has seen turnover hit €12.1bn in the three months to September.
On these figures underlying sales growth was 7.8%.
Personal Care was at €4.1bn (+.3%), Home Care hit €2.1bn (+9.2%), Savoury, Dressings & Spreads rose to €3.5bn (+6.2%) and Ice Cream & Beverages was at €2.4bn for the quarter (+4%).

Paul Polman, the chief executive of Unilever, said of the results:
"Growth was strong across all categories and helped by technology-based innovation, now routinely rolled out quickly to multiple markets. ...The integration of Sara Lee and Alberto Culver has progressed well and we are beginning to leverage some of these brands into new markets... In addition, the recently announced acquisition of Concern Kalina, the leading local Personal Care company in Russia, will significantly strengthen our business in this important market."
