Plant Health Care, a producer of "naturally derived" agricultural products, says tests of its harpin seed treatment "delivers added yield over and above traditional insecticide/fungicide seed treatment combinations."

The test results show the addition of Plant Health Care's harpin-based N-Hibit product resulted in a yield increase of 2.8 soybean bushels per acre versus the same treatment without harpin.

The tests were conducted by Direct Enterprises (DEI), whose president Bill Haubner said: "Our 2011 field trial once again demonstrates that N-Hibit enhances the performance of every insecticide/fungicide combination we tested."

Plant Health Care is now trying to make a liquid formulation of Harpin that can made available to the upstream market via Monsanto.

The company certainly needs to show the market it is making progress. Its share price has fallen 88% since August of 2008, 45% since January alone. Today's test results saw PHC climb 5.92%.
