BG Group and Ophir make fourth Tanzanian discovery
BG Group says its drilling campaign offshore Tanzania has made its fourth discovery of gas, bringing total recoverable resources up to seven trillion cubic feet (TCF).
BG Group says its drilling campaign offshore Tanzania has made its fourth discovery of gas, bringing total recoverable resources up to seven trillion cubic feet (TCF).
The latest find is from the Jodari-1 well, located 39km out to sea, at a depth of 1150 metres. Gross recoverable resources are estimated to be 2.5- 4.4TCF.
The project is 60% owned by BG and 40% owned by Ophir Energy. The next target is named as Mzia-1, 23km north of Jodari.

BG Group shares have risen 8.4% so far this year, Ophir has gained 38.7%.
