The case for E.ON Next’s solar panel offering – from installation to financial integration
Solar panels give homeowners the opportunity to reduce their reliance on the energy grid – and unpredictable energy markets – which could reduce monthly bills. From custom design and professional installation to the financial optimisation, we list seven benefits of installing solar panels with E.ON Next.
Solar panels could make a huge difference to homeowners. By installing solar panels to the roof of your property, you could use the electricity they generate to help power your home. This means you could use less from the energy grid – increasing your energy independence and giving you more control over your bills. You could potentially even earn money too, by being paid for exporting excess power. Plus, the energy you generate is clean and renewable so you could reduce your carbon footprint.
Upgrading your home with solar panels can be simple and stress-free – E.ON Next’s solar panel service offers bespoke system design, flexible payment options, and long-term guarantees, so you can have peace of mind during the installation and beyond. Plus, E.ON Next is offering existing customers a £200 discount on solar and battery sales.
We explain seven reasons why you should choose E.ON Next’s solar panel service.
1. Custom system design
E.ON Next understands the importance of making sure your solar panels suit your property and needs. That’s why their bespoke system design is tailored to each home, with panels sized and placed to maximise energy production and self-consumption. Get a free quote online, and they’ll recommend the number of solar panels, as well as battery and tariff, for your home. Their expert team will create a personalised design for your solar and battery system which will suit your home, so you can understand and make the most of the upgrade.
2. Professional installation
E.ON Next is committed to providing safe, reliable and long-lasting installations, so you can rest assured with their professional solar panel installations. Offering a full turnkey service, the expert team will create a 3D design of your home and the new solar panels for the installation and then carry out any required grid applications on your behalf. They will also handle the setting up of scaffolding around your home – taking the burden off you. They’ll install your solar panels in just one to two days, and always ensure your solar panel system is fully MCS certified which will enable you to apply for export tariffs later, if you wish.
3. Integrated tariff guidance
As well as reducing their reliance on the energy grid, solar panel owners can get paid for the extra renewable electricity they generate via the government’s Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) scheme. E.ON Next is a mandated SEG licensee, meaning they can help you monetise your surplus electricity. E.ON Next offers four different SEG tariffs, and the type depends on the type of customer you are. Their Next Premium v3 Export tariff lets you earn up to 17.5p per kWh on the excess solar energy you produce.1
4. Financial optimisation
E.ON Next supports you at every step of your solar panel installation, as well as once you're up and running. Their experts have put together troubleshooting ideas and helpful aftercare guides, which explain everything you need to know about maintenance and cleaning solar panels as well as how to know if they are reaching their full potential.
5. Flexible payment options
E.ON Next offers a range of payment options, making solar panels more accessible to homeowners – without compromising on the long-term returns. You can pay upfront, make three manageable instalments, or spread the upfront cost over time – E.ON Next offers a 0% APR2 finance option for up to three years.
6. Long-term warranties
You can feel confident with your solar panel installation with E.ON Next both during the installation process, and well into the future. As well as being a trusted name, with E.ON Next, you can choose solar panels which come with 25+ year performance guarantees.
Each battery they install comes with a 10 year battery product warranty and two year workmanship warranty, giving you long-term assurance. E.ON Next’s fully trained solar and battery support team are on hand to help, should you need them, and their comprehensive guides are easy to access online.
7. Monitoring and optimisation tools
Your smart meter will automatically track the flow of electricity from your property to the energy grid. That means, if you’re on the Smart Export Guarantee tariff with E.ON Next, they will credit your account with any excess energy you produce via your solar panels and sell back to the grid. Plus, via your smart meter’s in-home display unit, you can easily track in real-time whether you are paying for your energy or using your free electricity generated by the solar panels – letting you adjust when you use energy and maximise the amount you can save on your bills. They also offer innovative optimisation tariffs, such as E.ON Next Optimise, which can allow your system to optimise against wholesale market prices to help save you even more money.
1 Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) payments, are payments for electricity you export to the grid. These savings figures are based on the Next Premium v3 Export tariff from E.ON Next of 17.5p per kWh (kilowatt hour) for E.ON Next import-tariff customers who purchase a solar solution.
