Expand your horizons with AVI Global Trust
Welcome to a MoneyWeek webinar broadcast live from the London Stock Exchange, featuring the AVI Global Trust. The session is entitled: Expand your horizons: Discover idiosyncratic Investing. MoneyWeek magazine’s editor-in-chief Andrew Van Sickle hosts Joe Bauernfreund, AVI’s chief executive officer and chief investment officer; Tom Treanor, fund manager and head of research; and Wilfrid Craigie, AVI’s senior investment analyst.
AVI Global is one of the six investment trusts in the MoneyWeek Investment Trust portfolio, which attempts to capture the world’s most compelling investments through global and mostly value-orientated funds. AVI Global joined the portfolio, which is essentially our attempt to put our money where our mouth is, early last year.
AVI Global Trust is an unusual fund, seeking to pinpoint and unlock value in three key areas the market tends to overlook: Japan; investment trusts or other forms of closed-end funds; and large family-controlled companies or conglomerates. These are all areas MoneyWeek has long been keen on.
Tune in for analyses of the fund’s strategy, its recent performance, and the three broad areas it focuses on. Tom and Wilfrid each present a video featuring a case study of how AVI has found and crystallised value. You will also learn how the fund approaches volatility and the three key investment principles, its structure and recent performance highlights.
