Bellway (LSE: BWY) is a major house builder in the UK. Over the year to July the firm's pre-tax profits rose 12.6% to £561m while revenues were up around 14% to £2.6bn.
During the same period it also reported a 10.6% increase in the number of houses sold, as strong demand, low interest rates and government assistance for new buyers boosted sales. Meanwhile, the average selling price of its private houses rose by 3% to just over £260,000.
Be glad you didn't
Go-Ahead Group (LSE: GOG) provides bus and rail passenger services in the UK and Singapore. In the four months to October it saw a fall in passenger journeys due to delays, cancellations and strikes. It reported a slowdown in passenger revenue growth on its Southeastern train service.
