Avocado consumption has rocketed in the past two decades. But President Trump could spoil the party in the years ahead. Mexican imports comprise 82% of US avocado consumption, and growers warn that any trade obstacles would have a major impact on US supplies, causing a big jump in prices and hitting demand.
