Audi R8 V10 - a bit of a party animal
The question on everybody's lips is how the new Audi R8 V10 Plus compares to the Lamborghini Huracan.
Discerning supercar enthusiasts will be asking many Top Trumps-style questions of this new Audi R8 V10 Plus, says James Mills in The Sunday Times. But there's only one that really matters: is it better than the Lamborghini Huracan (see below)? Because, for all its "gut-wrenching" performance, the new Lamborghini proved "a teeny, weeny bit disappointing".
The new R8 is definitely not so. Put it this way: if the Huracan took you to a party, it'd take you by the arm at 11.30pm, concerned about work tomorrow and the lateness of the hour. The R8 will be in the hot tub at 5am, passing round yet another bottle of champagne. "If that sounds like your kind of party, then the new Audi R8 is your kind of car."
The new model looks superb and has an "astonishing breadth of character", says Dan Trent on Piston Heads. The Huracan has the easy job: it just has to be noisy and exciting. The R8, though, has to deliver the Lambo's kind of drama while being "as refined and friendly as a TT on the daily commute". On all fronts, this new Audi delivers. It is a "pretty formidable all-round package".

The R8's rival: a car born of monsters
It's a true modern-day supercar but sufficiently user-friendly to drive every day, says Chris Evans in the Daily Mail. The handling is "as good as it gets" and it is just "glorious" to look at. In short, it's the best car Lamborghini has ever made. You really can use it every day and it's tremendous to drive, says Jeremy Clarkson in The Sunday Times. "Really tremendous."
