Ford Mustang: American muscle comes to Britain
For the first time, you can buy a right-hand-drive version of the Ford Mustang, the classic American muscle car.
The Ford Mustang is a car motoring dreams are made of, says Chris Knapman in The Daily Telegraph. In its American homeland, drivers have for more than 50 years been seduced by a formula that has been copied but never bettered. Now, for the first time, you can buy a right-hand-drive version of the classic muscle car in the UK.
The 'Stang is an automotive icon, says Paul Bond in What Car. This new model handles better than any of its predecessors, with taut body control and better grip, and it looks "absolutely fantastic".
But if you can stretch the budget, make sure you go for the V8 engine: it's a "unique proposition" in its sector, looks and sounds "amazing", and is "seriously quick". The car's far from perfect, says Steve Fowler in AutoExpress, but that "won't matter a jot to Mustang enthusiasts" or those looking for something a bit different from the norm. A British Mustang will bring "a breath of fresh air" to our roads.

What you could have for the same money
Go for the top of the range 2.0 TFSI Quattro model, for around the same price as the V8 Mustang, and you'll have a "deeply impressive" car, says James Taylor in Car. "Fast, sure-footed and with an interior to die for, it builds on every attribute of its predecessor to create a product that, for many, will be deeply desirable."
It is "simply sublime" and "reeks of quality", says Oliver Kew in AutoExpress. Other sports cars might be more involving to drive, but as an "all-round, everyday, feel-good coup", the Audi is hard to beat.
