That means that Green has raised nearly £1m in six weeks.
Green used to be chief operating officer at Reuters and then chief executive of Royal P&O Nedlloyd.
Last Thursday, United Utilities said that it was still trading "slightly" ahead of management expectations, keeping the water utility on track for a "solid" underlying full-year result. The company has been hit by the Ofwat price review and second half profit will be lower.
The full year results will be published on 26 May.
