Small caps round-up: Microsaic Systems, Fitbug, Eckoh, Blinkx

Microsaic Systems, a developer of chip-based scientific instruments, has signed a 'significant' agreement to provide its miniature mass spectrometer, known as the Microsaic MiD, as an original equipment manufacture to an international supplier of laboratory equipment. Under the terms of the agreement, the new supplier will commit to an initial minimum quantity of 100 units during the first 30 months. Shipments of Microsaic MiD to the supplier will begin later this year.

Fitbug Holdings, which provides online personal health and well-being services, has signed a three-year supply partnership agreement with US company, Healthrageous, supplying its proprietary activity tracking technology including wired devices, software, data handling and customer service support. "This supply partnership will better position both Fitbug and Healthrageous to play a bigger part in this growing market," Fitbug said.

Eckoh, a UK provider of speech recognition and associated payment solutions, has been selected by three water companies to provide its EckohPAY secure card payments solution over a three-year period. The solution allows customers to make their water payments 24 hours a day, seven days a week by securely authenticating the identity of the caller and guiding them through the payment system in real time. "In the last year alone we have processed payment transactions worth over £117m in the utility sector and we look forward to developing our service further with these three water companies and extending the use of our technology to other parts of their businesses," the firm said.

Blinkx has signed more than 720 partners and indexed over 35m hours of video and audio content to date.
