The firm added it remained on track to deliver an improved performance in the second half.
Spirent said its strategy remained to diversify the group activities geographically and by activity and it was eyeing further acquisitions.

Chairman Brook Land said the firm's strategy of investing in markets less affected by economic turbulence, whilst managing carefully in markets where client expenditure is subdued, continued to be successful.
"The acquisitions made this year have continued our international diversification," he said.
"This is a trend we anticipate will continue, further strengthening our prospects."
Recent purchses include Espey Consultants Incorporated, a US-based consulting firm, for $6.0m and Applied Science Associates,a US oceanographic consulting firm, for $13.5m.
However, he added that the pace of the firm's growth remained, in part, dependent on global economic circumstances.
