Mariana Resources the minerals developer has reported positive results from a drill campaign at its Las Calandrias gold-silver project in the Santa Cruz province in southern Argentina. Of the 21 holes drilled, 13 provided what the company described as 'significant intersections'.

Nickel development firm African Eagle Resources has issued an estimate upgrade for the Ngasamo deposit at its flagship Dutwa project in Tanzania. A report issued following drilling at the end of last year doubles the total Dutwa Indicated Resource to 92.3m tonnes and increases the total Dutwa resource by 10% to 109.1m tonnes.
Herencia Resources, the minerals explorer, says recent test results have extended the size of its potential zinc-silver-lead mine in Chile. The "induced polarisation" survey shows the deposit at the Paguanta project to be around 3km in length and 1km in width.
