Barclays's Chief Operating Officer (COO) Jerry del Missier has now quit, leaving the bank's boardroom looking a little empty following the resignation of both its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer over the last few days.

Barclays's Chief Operating Officer (COO) Jerry del Missier has now quit, leaving the bank's boardroom looking a little empty following the resignation of both its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer over the last few days.

Del Missier, who was appointed as COO just last month, is to follow in the footsteps of his boss, Bob Diamond, who called it quits on Tuesday morning following intense pressure from politicians after the bank was found guilty of manipulating interbank lending rates.
