Friday preview: Norcon, producer prices

Those of you of a superstitious bent who have noted that the final trading day of the week is Friday the 13th might be comforted by the fact that the corporate news flow cupboard is incredibly bare.

Communications consultancy Norcon could have centre stage all to itself as it releases full year figures. That may prove a mixed blessing, as it issued a profits warning a couple of months back because of a higher than expected tax charge.

The market is expecting profit before tax of £3.86m (about $6.16m) on revenue of £43.8m ($69.9m).

On the economics front, UK producer prices data for March is expected to show output prices up 0.5%, after February's 0.6% rise. Input prices are expected to have increased 1.2% after rising 2.1% in February.

In year-on-year terms, market expectations are for output prices to be up 3.5% and input prices up 4.8%.
