Matra Petroleum completes seismic survey on Sokolovskoe oil field
Matra Petroleum announced on Tuesday it has completed the seismic survey on its Sokolovskoe oil field in Orenburg, Russia.

Field works were carried out on the prospect, including a survey of 100 kilometres of 2D seismic and 60 square kilometres of 3D seismic.
The company said seismic results revealed the complexity of the field configuration compared to what was previously mapped as one big structure.

It identified that the Aphoninsky reservoir of the Sokolovskoye field splits into four separate domes within the boundaries of the license area from south-west to north-east.
"The improved understanding of the Sokolovskoe oil field will be extremely valuable as we assess the future potential of the field and how to best allocate Matra's resources going forward,"said Chief Executive, Maxim Barskiy.
Matra will now prepare a field development plan for Sokolovskoye field.
Upon completion, Matra will commission an independent competent persons report which will provide an updated reserves figure for the areas drilled by wells A-12 and A-13 as well as a resources estimate for the prospective structures.
