Money makers: Distilling whisky in the Cotswolds

Former hedge-fund manager Daniel Szor took up doing what he always wanted to do - distill whisky in the Cotswolds.

Daniel Szor's friends thought he was having a mid-life crisiswhen the former hedge-fund manager set up his whiskydistillery in the Cotswolds three years ago, says Laura Onitain The Sunday Times. But "I've always been a whisky nerd",admits the 54-year-old. Building a distillery from scratchis not cheap. Szor used his £1m savings,and borrowed£500,000 from friends and family to buy the stills and kit outthe distillery. Yet he still "didn't have enough money to seethe whole thing through".
