This chart shows just how frenzied the housing market in London has become compared to the rest of the UK.

According to Rightmove, asking prices in Greater London have risen by more than 40% since 2007, compared to just 8.7% for the UK as a whole.

While asking is not the same as getting, it’s clear that London is a very different market to Britain as a whole.
